Fires in SoCal

I'm so glad that people have been able to evacuate, they have cars, they have money to afford to evacuate, they have a place to go to. Today on the news someone said it was such an accomplishment by FEMA, you know, to make sure the rich, suburban, white population of Southern California are okay, not to mention their $500,000 plus homes. Good job FEMA.

Let's think back to 2005, you know, remember when FEMA had a chance to become our national heroes? When we had a major emergency situation with a large urban population, with a lot of people who don't own 2 cars per household, or even one car per household. A lot of elderly, disabled, in general, a lot of people who really couldn't evacuate even if they wanted to? Yeah we all know what happened there, instead of having our federal government be our saving grace, they were our international disgrace.

I'm sorry, but the discrepancy in these two cases of national emergencies is sick. I don't even know where to begin to make it better.
