Buenos Aires Street Art

BA is well known for great works of graffiti art. There are even tours you can take! Just about every walk I take, I come across something interesting.

Roma

It's summer in Roma, meaning it is affollata y calda. Crowded and hot! A good game plan is to walk from water fountain to water fountain, stay in the shade, skip the heat of the day, stay inside at the musuems, enjoy the awesome public parks and avoid the Disneyland parts of Rome.

Off the beaten path in Roma makes for some beautiful photographs. Enjoy!

Ciao.

Need to Expand Number of Hours in the Day

Apparently my blog has become a photo blog...I apologize for that.

Latest news in a nutshell...
I'm becoming environmentally friendly! Proven by the fact that I biked to and from school today.
My photographs will be on exhibit tomorrow evening! At the Medicine and the Muse Event.
I'm learning about the all-powerful amazing and sometimes asthmatic lung! Lungs are COOL. Don't mess up your V/Q ratio though. That's BAD news.
I can distinguish the lung sounds of wheezes, crackles, and rhonchi by auscultation.
An owl visited me the other day on my way home, it was outstandingly amazing and surreal.
As usual I drink too much diet coke.

I have way more thoughts, comments, and experiences than that, but I really have to write this proposal. It will get me $12k of funding and we all know that's a lot of money for a med student.

Berry Falls Hike, Big Basin State Park

Today, around noon my dad and I decided we'd tackle the 12 mile Berry Falls Hike. After an hour of driving we reached the lovely Big Basin State Park around 1pm, leaving us just about 4 hours of light to complete our task.

Luckily, it turned out to be one of the best hikes we've ever been on. Vibrant luscious flora, banana slugs, newts, birds abound, and spectacular waterfalls. We may have needed to trot the last few miles, but it was still amazing and we managed to make it to the car by dark!

What a birthday extravaganza!

It started with a filling homemade breakfast courtesy of my Grandma...

Then, I decided to take advantage of the "Get in Free on your Birthday" deal offered by Disneyland...

With my 81-year old Grandpa. Yah that's us standing in line for Splash Mountain.

And we rode Space Mountain and the Matterhorn too (and many more!).

And then more family came and celebrated on Saturday.

I'm officially spoiled. Thank you to all!

Big Sur Camping Trip

Just got back from a 4 day camping trip in Big Sur! Had some campfires, roasted marshmallows, had a great hike through the redwoods and relaxed on the beaches. So awesome!
The wildflowers were incredible!

Shutterfly = Awesome

A few days ago I was trying to figure out how I could share the photos from my recent trip to Europe, and I found that Shutterfly allows you to make your own photo websites, with unlimited storage.

So I've made two sites and will be uploading photos on a regular basis. Check them out and let me know what you think!

My site: www.juliapederson.shutterfly.com or click here
My family site: www.thepedersons.shutterfly.com or click here

So awesome!!

Ireland!

What a trip! Here are some of the highlights...

Here's Abbey and me, yup we started down at the bottom where those teeny tiny houses are....

12/12 on the top of Croagh Patrick! 100% success rate! My Grandpa (80), made it the whole way by himself...WOWSERS!

It's okay Shawn, if you handled Iraq I think you can manage Western Ireland...

Oh Francis...What would we do without you? ;)

Jeremiah and Olivia will both be coming back to Ireland, I can count on it!

Mike, Shawn and Grandpa know how to pick the best bars...

Kitty and Abbey enjoying the Cliffs of Mahr...

All of us, enjoying the Atlantic Coast off Achill Island...

I have such a great, crazy, wonderful family and we had such a fun crazy trip together!

I took this photo after a treacherous hike up to Yosemite Falls with a giant backpack on my back, it makes it so worth it for me.

My TECH Wish List

On a more materialistic note, I've begun to make a list of items I would like to own to further my interest in photography and videography. My current digital camera is not cutting it for me, I run through AA batteries like they are an endangered species. The other problem with my photos is that my family has green eyes, and thus we all look like frightening demons in all our photos, only Ms. Adobe can conquer the demons in my life, iphoto makes us look like zombies, not much better.
In other tech news, I made my second movie ever last night (the first being the Amazing Race tape), and I was sad to see how my camera shots bounced around and gave me motion sickness. Which was great for the Blair Witch part, not so great for the other parts. Thus, I have created a Tech Wish List.

  • Digital Camera, minimum 8.0 megapixels, with continuous shooting capability. Right now my favorite is the Canon PowerShot 8.0-Megapixel Digital ELPH Camera
  • Tripod, must be portable & fit in a backpack, must be compatible with my digital camera and video camera
  • Adobe Photo Shop, newest version
  • Final Cut Pro 6, amazing video editing software
  • External Hard Drive, required to store all of these photos and videos I'm creating
  • iphone = INCREDIBLE
